Dark Rebirth

Restart your run to earn Blight for permanent upgrades.

Full reference

Blight Tree

Spend Blight at the Accursed Elf on upgrades that survive Dark Rebirth.

Rules and related records

How it works

  • Start at the first node, then buy outward through connected nodes. A node needs any one connected neighbor to be purchased.
  • Each additional depth multiplies the node cost by three. Node sizes also affect the price.

Card Draws

Draw cards at the Portal to recruit units or add totems.

Totems

Equip totems for passive effects, attack triggers and support abilities.

Rules and related records

How it works

  • Duplicate totems stack. Most triggered effects repeat once per equipped copy; direct bonuses have their own stacking rules.
  • Inactive totems are kept in the backpack.
  • Trigger conditions matter: some require a particular class, low health, deaths, or other totems to activate.

Combat and Formation

Position your army, buy upgrades and repeat battles to progress.

Rules and related records

How it works

  • Drag units to change the formation.
  • Losing a battle does not remove your recruited army.
  • Turn Auto Progress off to repeat a level for gold.
  • Regular enemy health and damage change continuously with level. The multipliers below apply to their base stats; boss encounters use separate values.
  • Above level 300, regular enemies also gain additional health and damage scaling.

Warpath

Keep surviving troops in combat across consecutive enemy waves after a deathless victory.

Rules and related records

How it works

  • Unlock Warpath and enable Level Auto-Progress. Winning a battle without losing an ally starts the Warpath.
  • New levels arrive in waves while surviving units stay in combat.
  • When all your units die, the Warpath ends and awards one mini-chest for each level cleared during it.
  • Right-click the Warpath button to toggle it.
  • War Drums teleports allies that fall more than two screen widths behind the leftmost enemy to one screen width behind it.
  • Gold Birds have a chance to appear after each cleared wave.

Save Backups

Use Backups on the save selection screen to restore or make copies of your main game and Trial saves.

Rules and related records

How it works

  • Backups can be restored into any save slot. Restoring over an existing save or deleting a save creates a local backup first.
  • Automatic backups occur every five minutes during active play, and on Dark Rebirth or exit if progress has been made.
  • Each main save keeps up to 256 local and 64 cloud automatic backups. Each Trial save keeps up to 128 local and 32 cloud automatic backups. Older backups are spaced farther apart.
  • Manual backups remain until deleted. Up to 512 manual cloud backups are shared across all save slots; local manual backups have no fixed limit.
  • If saving or backing up fails, the in-game Quit and Return to Menu buttons keep the session open so you can resolve the problem and retry.
